Help support the Picard's due to a fire destroying their home & belongings

Yesterday afternoon Dan, the kids and Rebecca left their home to spend some time at their community Christmas party in Te Akau. Not long after they had been there, the fire engine went screaming past. They didn't think much of it, yes kids Santa is still coming (he normally turns up on the fire truck).

A couple of hours later it was time to get the young kids off home, Rebecca left Dan with the 2 older boys quite happily playing and hanging out with new friends. She got to the corner before home and there's fire trucks everywhere. As she rounded the corner her heart sunk, there were fire engines, hoses and firefighters right outside their house, up their driveway and thick smoke billowing everywhere.

It was their house.

Their home, memories & all of their possessions are gone. Photos, precious items, kids favorite toys, jewelry from Grandma, everything is gone.

The campers staying next door saved their dog. Their best mate and loyal companion was on the deck and refused to move, they thought he was tied up and had to be dragged away.

Whilst they do have insurance of course they are grateful for any additional help.
