Let's all get behind the Wairarapa-based staff of Taratahi while their wages are suspended due to interim liquidation
Wellington
Taratahi is a private training institution based in Wairarapa for nearly 100 years. Recently the Taratahi board made the decision to place Taratahi into liquidation. While that process gets underway staff wages have been suspended, affecting many families in our region. This decision is felt right across the country, throughout Wairarapa, our local councils and Government.
Many people feel for the staff and want to help, but aren't sure how. Donating through this page will give you the chance to show your support to these staff while they consider their future options while the liquidation process is completed. This short-term support will assist the Wairarapa-based staff during the initial period while their pay remains suspended.
The three Wairarapa Mayors - Lyn Patterson, John Booth and Viv Napier - and Wairarapa-based Labour MP Kieran McAnulty have set up this page as an avenue for supporters in the local community and across the country to help out those that have been caught up in the liquidation of Taratahi.
We want to give the community the opportunity to show their support for Taratahi staff affected by the liquidation process
All funds will go to support the Wairarapa-based staff affected by wage suspension. Those that wish to receive support will have funds or good bought with these funds (such as a food and household goods hamper) distributed evenly between them.
