Help Syd Ferguson & his young family

On Saturday 29th March 2025, Syd Ferguson was doing what he loved - racing his sprint car at Baypark Speedway. If you are a speedway fan you may have had the pleasure of watching him race over the years. It was his last heat of the night and last race of the season. Unfortunately, Syd crashed at speed into a wall which resulted in Syd's body taking significant impact.

CT scans revealed he had broken his neck in 2 places and had breaks in 3 or 4 places in his back. The family were extremely relieved to find out there was no paralysis however they spent some harrowing hours waiting on test results and being told he had life threatening injuries. After an agonizing wait, they were given the good news that he would be ok. Syd has since had to endure a lengthy back surgery and has a long road to recovery ahead. Syd and his partner Cass are parents to two beautiful young children. Due to his injuries and the nature of his work as a builder, he could be off work for a long time. We would love to help take some of that financial burden away so he can focus on his rehabilitation. If you could please help Syd and his family in any way, we would be extremely grateful.
