Help Sylvie and Her Family Through Her Kidney Transplant Journey ❤️
A little girl, a father's incredible gift, and a family facing a long road to recovery.
Sylvie is a beautiful two-year-old from Timaru, New Zealand. At Christmas 2024, she was rushed to hospital and flown to Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland as her kidneys began failing.
After months of dialysis, hospital trips, and uncertainty, Sylvie needed a kidney transplant. Because she was so young, she first had to gain enough weight. She reached that milestone, and her dad, Hugh, stepped forward to donate one of his own kidneys. ❤️
The transplant has happened
Hugh and Sylvie have undergone surgery and are now recovering in Auckland. Sylvie remains sedated while doctors monitor her new kidney. Both face a long road to recovery.
How you can help
The family of five must stay in Auckland for approximately five weeks while Sylvie receives care and both she and Hugh recover. Accommodation, food, transport, and everyday expenses are creating significant financial pressure.
Your donation will help ease this burden so the family can focus on supporting one another and giving Sylvie the best chance at recovery. Any contribution, large or small, will make a meaningful difference.
If you cannot donate, sharing this page would also mean so much.
Let's rally around Sylvie, Hugh, and their family. Thank you for every donation, share, and act of kindness. ❤️
Sylvie is my niece.
