Help The Barden Party Take Award-Winning Theatre to Edinburgh 2026

For the past four years, The Barden Party has been creating bold, heart-filled theatre from Aotearoa, earning international acclaim and awards as an independent company, all while operating on the smell of an oily rag. What we’ve achieved so far has been driven by passion, resilience, and an unwavering belief in the power of storytelling.

In 2026, we’ve been invited back to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe—one of the world’s most prestigious stages. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our international partners, our venues are already secured for the return of our award-winning Macbeth and the world premiere of Heracles. They’ve even helped organise a tour across Scotland and to the Isle of Man.

Now, we’re reaching out for support to get us there.

We are seeking to raise $30,000 NZD to cover flights for our cast and team—the final piece needed to make this opportunity a reality. With your help, we can bring these works from Aotearoa to a global audience once again.

We know times are challenging, and asking for support is never easy. But we also know that art matters deeply—especially now. It brings people together, sparks conversation, and keeps culture alive across borders.
