Strength tested!
19 June 2021Jo is into round 9 of chemotherapy and has been thrown some extra challenges in just to test her strength! Her inflammatory arthritis has returned with a vengeance and she's had a really rough time of it the last couple of weeks.
She's been in constant pain that has has spread from her ankles to her jaw and everywhere in between. She's limited in the medication she can take due to the chemo she's still going through. Her chemo has also thrown her into early menopause and the hot flushes are not fun!
On the cancer front, there have been some positives and negatives - her blood cancer cell count has dropped and more lesion shrinkage but there's not enough to allow for it to be operated on. Unfortunately, the only bit of liver to be spared from lesions in a small bit on the left. Despite this, Jo is focusing on the positives and finding reassurance other non-funded drug options will be available to her as another tool to fight it thanks to all the support she has received, and continues to receive.
A number of people have been asking how they can donate so the givealittle page has been opened back up. After the chemo other unfunded drugs and treatment are going to have to be sought so any help is appreciated.
Below is a picture of Jo's first liver scan (on left) and her latest.
