Thank you & Malo Aupito ♥️🙏. Words can never express the level of gratitude that we have for the amazing love and support we have received from each and every one of you all. Thank you so so much, we feel so loved and supported. May God truly bless you all abundantly in every area of your lives in health, happiness and may all your needs be met. We are slowly coming through the shock and processing the huge, sudden change in our circumstances. We will also be looking into creating a fund "Refinersfire" for helping fellow house fire victims through the vitally important first few hours / days, focusing on the immediate needs - food, footwear /clothing & shelter. As there were nine of us with just the clothing on our backs, we understand how important these areas are. Watch this space! 📚🙏.

OUR JOURNEY : Rising from the Ashes / Refinersfire.

    Mālō e Lelei,

On behalf of my family, I want to extend our most sincere gratitude to everyone who has helped us during and after our tragic house fire.

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/manawatu-standard/news/300479929/community-rallies-around-family-of-nine-after-devastating-house-fire

Just when you think that things won’t get any worse i.e. lost job due to mandate, then this i.e. lost our house due to the fire.

Its devastating, literally, by the very definition of the word.

Despite these painful blows, we are overwhelmed by the aroha & support that we have received, like clothes, food, household items, their time & gifts for the children etc and even through the give a little page (created by one of our friends / children's coach through Hiwinui school).

We are humbled by the outpouring of support, and words cannot express, how grateful we are, for all of the support from our friends, family, the amazing Ashhurst Fire Brigade, Hiwinui School Community, Highland Home Christian Camp, The Health Forum NZ, our neighbours, local businesses, the wider local community & from afar afield as the USA. We are lost for words.

I pray that God will refill and restock the aroha that each and everyone has given us, seven fold.

God is sovereign. He gives us the strength, purpose and the hope to endure & perservere.

Philippians 4:19 / Psalm 23. My father always told us "Get knocked down, but never get knocked out". Blessings

    Mālō `Aupito & `Ofa Lahi Atu

    Siosaia, Sidney & family

I dont get on Facebook much and didn't see this until just now. I get paid on Friday (Dec 31) and will give what I can. I've known Sidney since 2003. I am so sorry :(

  • Updated goal

      17 December 2021

We have been blown away by the generosity of everyone in only 24 hours. We have created a new goal as we know it will take a lot to get the Makahununiu’s back on their feet, thank you so much to all who have donated, it means the world.
