Something special is hatching in Upper Hutt. The Potters' Roost is a new social enterprise dedicated to creativity, connection, and mental well-being.

Pottery is more than a craft; it’s a tactile sanctuary—a way to ground ourselves and slow down. Our vision is a community space for everyone, from beginners to seasoned potters. We'll be offering beginner's courses in both wheel and hand-building, team-building events, weekend workshops, private pottery parties, kids school holiday sessions, and studio membership.

We are particularly proud to offer our Phoenix program. These creative well-being sessions are designed for anyone seeking a restorative, grounding experience through the medium of clay. The concept is to shape the clay into a 'mindfulness sculpture' without the pressure of perfection. These sessions are subsidised by reinvesting profits from other full price classes. Protecting the mental well-being of our local community matters a lot to us.

Building a professional studio from scratch is a massive undertaking. To open our doors in May, we are raising $30,000 in non-loan funding.
