Help the youth in Thailand - Support Brie and Harry

Hebron Youth Directions is a non-profit foundation in Thailand that looks at training underprivileged youth to help them have successful futures, with their vision being "to develop, train and equip disadvantaged youth to be prepared with the necessary skills for a successful future."

The organisation was founded in 2015 by Phil and Debbie Jarmy, who have been volunteering in Thailand doing such things as managing tsunami relief work, connecting with children's homes and giving vocational training to young girls rescued from sex trafficking. This all led them to realise that just rescuing youth and children's homes wasn't enough in itself. There was a desperate need to equip these young people to go on to get jobs, raise families and have successful futures. So, in 2015 they set up Hebron Youth Directions Foundation to do exactly that!

We (Brie Downey and Harry Mellor) are in our first year out of school and will be aged 18/19 at the time of our travels to Chiang Mai. We are passionate about travelling, and we would love to make a difference on our journeys. Hebron Youth Directions gives us the opportunity to give back to children who are in need and gives us purpose to travel.

We will be embarking on our journey in November/December, volunteering for a total of 10 days.

We are both lifeguards out of Red Beach Surf Life Saving Club and have been involved since we were children. Having accumulated the skills of being lifeguards along with first aid level 2, we now have the opportunity to teach and pass on our skills to the children of Chiang Mai with Hebron. This involves teaching them how to swim, basic first aid, CPR, and about the ocean. This will allow them to have more experience towards helping them to find jobs in the future, and also life skills to help them in case of any emergency. Along with these skills, we also will pass on our knowlege in barista and bar work, along with health and fitness lifestyles.

By donating, all proceeds of the donations will go towards the Hebron Youth Directions Foundation to support them in reaching their full potential by being able to get better equipment and resources to help the youth, and towards helping us to be able to get over to Thailand

Any help us to get to Chiang Mai and help the children get the life skills that they need to allow us to embark on this humbling experience is much appreciated by us, and by anyone that is involved with the foundation.

In return of your donations, not only are you helping us, but you will be helping the youth to have a better and brighter future. Throughout the journey we will also create daily vlogs and do write ups on our experiences which you will be able to follow.
