Help to change Maritza and her family's life forever

We met Maritza and her family last year in Guatemala in a small rural town and she told us her story. After their son was born he needed immediate medical attention and to fund these medical costs they had to sell their home. Their son is now 6 yrs old but they have been struggling financially since having to sell their house and Maritza's husband was planning to make the treacherous journey to the USA to try to enter illegally and earn some money to change their unstable future. After meeting Maritza I asked her how we could help and she told me she had always dreamed of opening a shop in her local community. Having a shop will mean that they have a stable income and her husband won't need to leave her and his son. We need NZ$10,000 to build and stock the shop. Maritza's husband is a builder and carpenter so he will build the shop with the materials we provide, and they have sent me plans and costings for the project.
