Help to preserve part of Te Awamutu's history & celebrate this momentous event.

Te Awamutu, Waikato

Just months after her Coronation, The Queen and Prince Philip visited New Zealand - they visited many small towns including Te Awamutu.

In March 2021 the Te Awamutu Community Board gave their approval to the creation of a plaque to commemorate the historic visit of our Sovereign and her forthcoming Platinum Jubilee (the first in Commonwealth history) but in September 2021 refused to fully-fund its creation.

What a celebration it would be if 110 years after the people of Te Awamutu honoured their King with a crowd-funded project, we could honour our Queen through this crowd-funded project.

You can learn more about the project here:

As part of the Te Awamutu community I believe that we have to preserve our history - if we don't know where we come from we don't know who we are.
