Mehmet is the most selfless, kind-hearted man we know. He has spent his life giving to others, his family, his friends, and his community, never expecting anything in return. Whether it was offering a helping hand, sharing words of wisdom, or simply being there when someone needed support, he always did what he could to make a difference. Now, in his greatest time of need, we want to do the same for him.

He was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma, an aggressive and heartbreaking illness that has changed our world forever. The harsh reality of this illness means his time with us may be cut short. He has begun palliative treatment, bringing with it so many unknowns. While we are devastated, what matters most to my siblings and me is honouring his wish to return to Türkiye, the place he calls home, to spend time with his family, familiar faces, and the sights and sounds of the culture that shaped him.

We don’t have the financial means to help him achieve this goal on our own. The cost of flights, possibly specialised travel arrangements, and ongoing care for his condition while in Türkiye are beyond what we can manage alone.
