The children of Northland School don't have a playground. Please help us raise funds to build one!
Northland, Wellington
The kids of Northland School/Te Kura O Orangi Kaupapa in Wellington have not had a playground for a very long time. In 2019 a major rebuild of the old leaky school buildings began and the playground was removed as part of this project.
The Northland School grounds, on the side of a hill, are very small and very busy space for the over 300 children enrolled. We need a well designed playground that is well suited for the site and serves the wider community, which is poorly served by play areas.
Playgrounds are incredibly expensive! The school community has been working hard for years to raise funds but we need a great deal more to meet our target. This givealittle page is part of our overall fundraising plan for 2022.
Play is so important for physical development, and cognitive, social and emotional needs. We would be incredibly grateful for any support for our playground for the Northland children.
Ngā mihi
Northland School is a small urban primary school located in Wellington, with a roll of around 300 students.
We need an additional $150K for the playground, which will be put towards the costs of playground surfacing, play equipment, and trees to replace those lost in the school rebuild.
