We’re on a mission to make it easier for young people, families, and everyone on the Coast to access the support they need.
Orewa, Auckland
In the 2022/23 NZ Health Survey, one in five young people aged 15-24 reported high or very high levels of psychological distress. Young people today face significant challenges, including mental health issues, social media harms, racism, and uncertain futures due to social, economic, and environmental factors.
For nearly 2 years, the HBC Youth Hauora Network (YHN) has connected youth & community organizations across the Coast. Now, we’re working to make it easier for young people, families, & community members to access essential support.
Our Goal: A User-Friendly Website
To improve access, we’re partnering with local design company Dialog to build a modern, searchable website that will serve as a central hub for youth and community health resources across the Coast.
This will be a central hub where anyone can find support for youth (& community) health and well-being in our community.
How You Can Help
We aim to raise $12,000 for this project, with any additional funds supporting our local youth network. Every donation brings us closer to a well-connected, supportive community.
If you’re able to help, even a small contribution would make a big difference. Thank you for supporting Coast youth!
HBC Youth Hauora Network is supported by Heart of the Bays Incorporated (Charity CC21150), umbrella-led initiative from the Bays Community Centre since 1989. Their mission is to enrich our communities by providing resources, opportunities, and connections that enhance well-being and resilience.
Our goal: A new, user-friendly website that serves as a hub for youth support services across the Coast—accessible from schools, doctor’s offices, community centres, and beyond.
