    The annual goes on sale on the 8th September. It is the latest compilation, edited and published by award-winning writer Kate De Goldi and Susan Paris, editor of the School Journal.

    Yet again, it brings together inspired stories and 'totally brilliant' ideas by some of New Zealand’s most legendary, and up and coming, Kiwi authors and illustrators.

    Success!! Thanks to your generous contributions, the Fledge Trust has now delivered copies of Annual 2 to 430 low-decile schools throughout New Zealand. Books were sent to both full-primary and intermediate schools. We are thrilled to help build a life-long love of reading in young New Zealanders, and are delighted with the responses we've received from schools. A big thank you to all of our donors; it wouldn’t have happened without you.

    There are no more copies of Annual 2 available, but we now have our eyes on Annual 3, which is to be published later this year.

  • 250 copies of Annual 2 posted to schools so far

    We’re excited to let you know that because of your generous support, we’ve been able to package up and post off 250 copies of Annual 2 to low decile, full primary and intermediate schools in Auckland and Northland, on Great Barrier Island, in the central North Island, the greater Wellington area, the Wairarapa, on the Chatham Islands and all over the South Island.

    The recent article in the Dominion Post featuring Naenae Intermediate’s school librarian Lois Fordyce and student librarian Amelia Ferguson, has helped us raise more money to send more schools a copy of the much-lauded Annual 2.

    “There’s never enough money in school libraries, so you have to weigh up what you put your money into, what will be most beneficial for students,” school librarian Lois Fordyce said. “So when we get these beautiful books freely sent to us, you think ‘yes, this is wonderful’. There is so much in Annual 2 for young readers to become engrossed in, many are drawn to graphic novels, but could also be introduced to poetry through the book.”

  • 120 copies of Annual 2 packaged and posted so far

    Thanks to your generous support, and the support of dozens of other donors, we’ve been able to package up and post off 120 copies of Annual 2 to low decile, full primary and intermediate schools in the greater Wellington area, the Wairarapa and all over the South Island. We even posted two to schools in the Chatham Islands!

    The messages of thanks flooding in from school librarians say it all:

    Our Givealittle campaign has already raised $18,000! For us to send all 450 copies of Annual 2 to low decile schools around New Zealand, we need to raise a further $4,000.
