Help us farewell Tarryn Attwell - 24 years of bravery, love, laughter - and sass! Support her whānau to grieve without financial stress.
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
Our Queen Tarryn passed away on 15 July, at 24 years old, after a lifetime marked by extraordinary courage and love. Tarryn lived a life filled with sass, love, and deep connection to her whānau - Shane (Dad), Mum (Ally), sisters Chalyce (and handsome Harry), Kyndra - and her cat Flapjacks. This is not the first time Shane and Ally have faced the unimaginable. Tarryn is the third daughter they have said goodbye to.
Over the past few years, Tarryn’s health needs became incredibly complex, and she faced more than most could imagine. She spent months at a time in Palmerston North Hospital and required full time care when at home. Born with Down Syndrome, and diagnosed with around 20 further health conditions over the years, Tarryn made her life count, and her sassy, determined spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Despite these immense challenges, Tarryn lived a vibrant life. She went to Freyberg College, got her learner's license, and worked part-time at Toyworld as a teenager. She worked at the SPCA and competed in cheerleading competitions. Tarryn had incredible adventures, she visited Disneyland, went on a Disney Cruise, and travelled to Tahiti, Paris, and Australia. She lit up at events like Disney on Ice and DragFest, and even fulfilled her dream of visiting the Shortland Street set and meeting the actors she loved.
Tarryn was held with love every step of the way. Let's ease the burden on Shane, Ally, Chalyce and Kyndra so they can grieve without added financial stress.
This page was created with love by Tarryn's Aunty Kim. Thank you for supporting our whānau and honouring the life of a girl who inspired everyone she met.
Giving Tarryn the farewell she deserves, covering funeral expenses and supporting her whānau so they can grieve without financial pressure.
