Wowee what a challenge this has been. Its almost been a full time job keeping up with all the various selling outlets, pick ups, couriers and markets as well as normal job but the hard work has been worth it and we are soooo close now!

Betty has picked up as many event shifts as possible since school finished and has worked herself so much she has woken up sick today poor girl.

Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery 🙏.

    Whats new?

-Passport has now been ordered ..yippee

-we only need $1560 more to pay for full amount of trip costs. So so close!

-will organize visa once passport arrives

-sorting medical information for health insurance.

-then focus will be on getting some spending money/meal money

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all that have contributed in so many different ways.

Need one last push to get over that finish line especially during the upcoming Xmas & New Year holiday period as our final in full payments are due by beginning Feb which doesn't leave much time with the holidays. Absolutely every $1 helps so much. Anything you can spare is enormously appreciated 🥰

    Kia ora friends

Excited to announce we have just passed the $6000 mark. Its been slow but steady since last update with a lot of hard work going on in background and is almost a full time job.

Great news, Betty has also secured her first part time job, although it's a casual position has been given work each week which is awesome. She is having to do VERY late night finishes and poor girl is utterly exhausted. Today is her first day with no commitments and is completely a catch up sleep day as she has done 2 weeks straight of long days at school including both days in the weekend and this morning was a 2am finish at work after getting up 5am yday, full day school then straight to work. Am very proud of her dedication to keep doing the work. Study leave and exams are imminent so everything else will be on hold for her for next 2-3 weeks so can focus on these solely.

Thank you for the clothing and bits n pieces dropped off for us to sell towards fundraising. It is definitely helping.

We have done exceptionally well so far but still a long way off target. Next big payment is due beginning Dec and are quite a way off this amount at moment. Please donate what you can on her givealittle page as every single $1 adds up.

Thank you for following and supporting my girl to achieve this goal.

    Ngā mihi nui

We have officially crossed the halfway point yay!

Our 3rd payment was made today and are on track so far. We have hit a bit of a plateau again and things have slowed down so looking for any other opportunities for fundraising.

Betty has recently auditioned for her school 2026 musical theatre production of Chicago-Teen version and has made it through with a role in ensemble + Understudy for Judge with a very heavy rehearsal schedule commencing beginning October for the rest of the year. Watch out for ticket sale info coming soon.

Thank you everyone for all support to date, with koha, givealittle, carboots, product drop offs for us to sell and even recycled paper bags as we use them for courier packaging and carboot.

It goes to show how absolutely every $1 helps when its all saved up.

Please donate what you can big or small as we continue to now work on the 2nd half and next big payment requirement. Thank you everyone 💗🙏

Exciting times. We have just officially paid the first payment for Betty which covers her flight deposit and her portion of group travel insurance. This is all non-refundable so as much as its 'Exciting' it is also a bit scary as we still have a long way to go but also means we are fully committed to doing this and its super real now...eek!!!! She is off to Dunedin next week for Big Sing National Finale too.

I know times are hard but please keep digging deep if you are able to, every $1 helps and goes a long towards every payment we need to make.

We are selling hard out in the background, making up gift packs, clearing out our garage & goodies donated, Betty has an order for a handmade crotchet cutee she has to make, next carboot 9th Sept, hangi workshop coming up Sept date TBC, next drama improv show planned later in year & Betty has a joint sausage sizzle/bake sale planned at sports event end of year with another drama trip buddy. Just to name a few things on the go 😜

Last night the drama girls had a brilliant night of theatre performances with their ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL EVENING. All proceeds from the event go into a shared trip fund which we are waiting to hear the results of this. There was a good steady crowd coming through from the 4 performances with pre-show yummy snacks for sale too.

All performances will be assessed for their NCEA this year too. 4 very different plays using different styles of technical acting requirements and very different genre styles too. Betty was in a play called 'The Unraveling'. It was ultimately about grief and she played the sick dying mother.

They portrayed the drama of grief very well through the use of pov stories including all the emotions and coping mechanisms. These girls are going to all benefit so much from the professional workshops they will go to in NEW YORK and Im really excited for them all to have this incredible experience.

We have just crossed the $2800 mark for Bettys fundraising which is fabulous but still have a long way to go. Every $1 helps! if you are able to help support her to reach this goal your koha will be very much appreciated & also keep sharing our page link too. Thank you Adele & Betty 😊 🙏 💓

We are continuing to creep up slowly and have just crossed $2300. Have hit a bit of a plateau which we hope is temporary.

    Upcoming fundraising events:

    -Elim carboot Saturday 9th Aug

-One Act Plays evening Friday 15th August

-Traditional Hangi workshop - September date TBC

Betty has been busy with rehearsals for Cultural night which we had 31st July which she was in 3 cultural stage performances. Kapa haka, Samoan Siva & Tongan dance.

And now is on final couple of weeks preparing for One Act Plays and Big Sing Finale (Nationals) which will be in Dunedin.

We appreciate all support received so far. Almost 1/4 of the way there and every dollar really does make a difference. Please donate what you can and help us with sharing this page link as well.

    Thank you 😊

We are excited to have just hit $2000 of fundraising in total from all sources. We are busy little bees in the background and have just had our first carboot sale. It was very quiet due to recent bad weather but we still did ok and sold out of Mars bar slice..brilliant! A few cookies left and quite a bit of coconut ice left but that's OK. It can be frozen & will keep till next time. Time to get on and start planning our next fundraising event. Up next Hangi workshop experience. Watch this space. Remember every $ really does make a difference. Thank you everyone who has & continues to support us with this crazy big challenge in all the different ways needed to get Betty to New York. We will do it!!!!

A big thank you to everyone that has helped us in so many different ways so far with Tautoko koha, sponsors, donated goods dropped off to be sold & or raffled, came along to drama improv night, and to those who have purchased items from us. Every $ helps. We are currently at $1550. A brilliant start but have a long way still to go with first payment due imminently of $3000.

We very much appreciate all help received to get Betty to New York.
