Help us give Donna more time with her family.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Donna has always been there for others. Kind, community-minded and known for her love of Christmas, she cherishes above all her husband Chris, daughter Sarah, son Ben and his new wife Rose.
Just as the future was looking so bright for the Scarlett family, Donna was diagnosed in late September with advanced metastatic cholangiocarcinoma, an aggressive and incurable liver cancer.
There is an unfunded treatment, Durvalumab, which may give Donna something incredibly precious: more time with the people she loves. The treatment costs $18,000 per round, with 12 rounds initially planned totalling $216,000. Despite having medical insurance, the family must bear this cost.
We know this treatment is not a cure. Our hope is simply to give Donna and her family more time together, more memories, and more moments that matter.
Donna is the heart of her family, and, true to form, her greatest concern is not for herself but for the pain they are experiencing. If you can help your donation will provide practical support for the family during this difficult time with all funds raised put towards treatment.
Every donation, large or small, will help us towards that goal.
The beneficiary is my mum. I am working with Carolyne Grant and Belinda Morrison.
Every dollar raised will go directly to Donna and Chris to help cover the cost of the unfunded drug Durvalumab. We’ll provide updates on the page. Thank you for supporting Donna and the family.
