Lindsay Farm wants to improve MPI regulations around distribution and monitoring. Your donation will help us provide a workable solution.
Hawke's Bay
Lindsay Farm in Hawkes Bay was one of the farms raided in December 2019 by MPI (Ministry of Primary Industries) following a two-year review of the Raw Milk for Sale to Consumers Regulations 2015. The regulations allow raw milk (which is not pasteurised, standardised or homogenised) to be sold by farmers - but only on-premise or through delivery to a customer’s home.
Lindsay Farm did not sign up to what we consider unworkable regulations, but established a farm partnership which allowed 1700 former customers to become partners in the ownership of our herd of 65 milking cows. We are passionately focused on best-practice and safety at all stages of the process.
We believe New Zealanders should be able to make choices about the food they consume, and be able to access it efficiently and easily. We want to be allowed to distribute milk to a small number of approved locations, to be stored at a safe temperature until collected.
Your donation will help us develop policy that can be presented to government, and help them provide the best-practice workable solution to the current impasse.
Lindsay Farm is a family-run dairy farm in central Hawkes Bay. We have been producing raw milk exclusively for 12 years, and are New Zealand’s largest producers of raw milk. But we are still a small farm and need your help. Every dollar will make a difference.
I'm managing Lindsay Farm's digital assets including this Give a Little page.
Your donation will allow us to pay for the qualified experts we need to convince government to adopt the best distribution and monitoring solutions, for ourselves and other raw milk farmers.
