Hanmer Springs Helipad Project
Hanmer Springs, Canterbury
When every minute counts, safe and fast access to emergency care can make all the difference. Right now, rescue helicopters landing in Hanmer Springs face real challenges: they touch down on the sports reserve, which can be difficult in poor weather or at night, and often require local volunteer firefighters to assist with lighting and safety.
We want to change that.
The Hanmer Springs Community Trust is building a dedicated emergency helipad and a concrete pathway to the Hanmer Springs Health Centre. This will provide a safe, paved, and well-lit landing zone that can be used in a wider range of conditions, and allow for faster, safer patient transfers, giving people the best chance at survival and recovery.
The total project cost is $100,000 – $120,000. While most funding will come from major donors, we’re asking our community to help raise $50,000 to make this vision a reality.
This is a local effort with a local impact. Whether you’re a resident, a business owner, a holiday homeowner, or a visitor who loves Hanmer Springs, your support will help us build something truly lifesaving.
Donate now and be part of something that will save lives for years to come.
Support the helipad. Support our community.
