We need to raise money for funeral costs and to support the family during this tough time.
Southland
My husband John who is 47 was diagnosed with severe COPD and he had Pulmonary fibrosis. Unfortunately John passed away on Tuesday afternoon 29th of October.
This page was originally set up to raise funds to help make memories for John and his family but now we need help in raising funds for his funeral and expenses. His lung disease progressed much quicker than the doctors thought and he is now at peace after many years of battling.
He had a bad bug too called Pseudomonas in his lungs which quickly became resistant to the only antibiotic that can treat it. We were hoping that he would last until Christmas but it was not to be.
Having a varied career from RNZAF search and rescue, to high voltage electrician, to electrical engineering tutor, John has given a huge amount of his life before he got really sick to mentoring and helping others to succeed and to raising his boys Graham, Shamus, Nick, Chris and Josh, the best way he could. He has given a lot of his time also to coaching and providing support to sporting teams his boys have been part of.
We would really appreciate your help with raising money now for his funeral and for ongoing costs for our family.
The money that is raised will be used by my myself to pay funeral expenses and to make it a bit easier for family with travel costs etc.
Funds will be spent on travel around NZ to visit friends and family, to tick off the odd bucket list item(fishIng), as well as making him comfortable with a suitable bed, ongoing medical costs and supporting family with funeral expenses.
Change in circumstances 2 October 2019
Unfortunately John is in hospital fighting pneumonia and we've been told his lung condition has significantly worsened so we desperately need your help to raise funds urgently so he can spend time with family and get money put aside for his funeral. Every dollar helps.
