We’re raising $20,000 to support young carers’ mental health, wellbeing, and aspirations through mentoring and holistic support.
Auckland
Right now across Aotearoa, young carers are quietly looking after parents, siblings, or grandparents with illness, disability, mental illnesses or addiction. These rangatahi are the backbone of their whānau — but they’re often unseen and unsupported.
At Unseen Heroes NZ, we support them with mentoring, mental health and wellbeing support, connection, and care. We walk alongside them as they build confidence, explore their aspirations, and take steps toward the futures they deserve.
But due to a recent funding shortfall, we’ve had to postpone our Bay of Plenty intake and scale back services. Still, we have young carers on our books — and they need us.
This August, we're launching 20K in 20 Days — a community-powered effort to raise $20,000 in just 20 days so we can continue supporting the young carers already on our books.
💛 $10 can support their aspiration plan or connection to opportunity
💛 $20 helps fund a support call
💛 $100 helps a young carer access one-on-one healing and wellbeing support
Every dollar counts. Every share helps. Every donation says to a young carer: you matter, and you are not alone.
👉 Donate now. Share the cause. Be part of the movement. #UnseenNoMore
Unseen Heroes supports young carers—young people who care for a loved one with a disability, illness, or addiction. Often unseen and overwhelmed, we help them know they’re not alone, support their wellbeing, and empower them to chase their dreams.
Funds will provide young carers with mentoring, mental health support, and help to achieve their goals and dreams. If we fall short, all funds will still support active wellbeing and aspiration planning for young carers already in our care.
