Paco has been involved in a car accident and needs urgent medical treatment to save his life.
Kaiapoi, Canterbury
Paco was adopted from the cafe in October 2019 and is very loved by his family, and all of us at Catnap.
Sadly, he was involved in a car accident on Sun 30th of Jan and suffered brain trauma as well as a broken jaw.
Paco has undergone surgery to fix his jaw and put in a feeding tube. His brain swelling has unfortunately caused him to lose his eyesight, although we are hopeful this will return once the swelling goes down. He is on lots of medication to keep him comfortable and stable, and under constant monitoring at the vet.
So far, Paco’s vet bills total $3000 with more to come. We want to help his family out a little bit at this awful time so that hopefully cost isn’t a barrier to saving his life.
Paco is only seven years old and this is the second time he has had to fight for his life. Before he came to the cafe, he underwent treatment for cancer on his nose. He survived and recovered, and we are hopeful that he can beat this as well.

Paco Update 15 February 2022
Paco is home and doing well! He still has a long journey ahead but his feeding tube has been removed and he is improving every day. He still can't see but is getting around well. He will have his jaw wire removed in a few weeks. Thank you so much who has helped so far, it means a lot to Paco's family.
