HELP US SAVE THESE POOR BUNNIES

  • NEARING THE FINISH LINE??

      5 March 2026

Poor Ollie has had a rough time. Although all the rabbits in that damned box had fight wounds and were treated with pain meds and antibiotics, one of the wounds on Ollie’s shoulder got infected. Many vet visits, multiple rounds of antibiotics and pain meds… but there was still a lump under the skin. His fosterer Ruby was so diligent in finding it and insisting that something was still wrong.

When rabbits get a wound infection, the puss is thick like toothpaste. It doesn’t come out easily, and can become encapsulated. Finally Ollie had to have surgery, and sure enough a large lump was removed. Thank goodness it hasn’t affected his movement or his charm at all!! He’s on a final round of meds, and will hopefully get the vets “all clear” this Friday for adoption.

Ideally we’ll find a family with a lonely lady rabbit to become his one true love. Is that you? With all that Ollie’s been through, please help us find his Happily Ever After, in a home so wonderful that he’ll forget his sad past.

Contact us to express your interest in adopting Ollie in the hopefully near future.

  • UPDATE ON THE BOX OF BUNNIES

      2 March 2026

Thanks to our SPCA desexing grant, all 6 rabbits were desexed and microchipped.

We had each bunny vaccinated, and we've supported their incredible fosterer Ruby (a super woman!) by supplying all of their food, parasite treatments, paying for all vet visits, medicines, etc.

Lily, Luna, Toast, and juvenile Benji (now much more grown up) have been adopted. Each has been successfully paired with a rabbit of the opposite sex in their new home. We couldn’t be happier with the loving families and wonderful lives they now live.

***Mila is still in our care, and looking for a husbun. We've posted her for adoption.

***Dear Ollie has had lots of vet visits and surgeries due to his original wounds, and is still in our care while on meds. He’ll be with us until he gets the all clear from exotic vet who specialises in rabbits. I’m still angry at the mangy humans who caused all of this trauma for these wee souls.

That box of bunnies has cost a small fortune so far, but we don’t regret taking them on. THANK YOU to those of you who donated to this givealittle, which helped defray some of the expenses.

  • FEMALES ALL DESEXED & VACCINATED

      19 December 2025

All three females (Lily, Lola, & Mila) have been successfully spayed. They’ve also had their vaccination against the deadly virus RHDV. Once they are healed and the stitches are out, they’ll be ready for loving homes. We’ll do a post regarding adoptions in the next few days.

The two males (Toast & Ollie) are at the vets right now, being neutered. If all goes well, they’ll also get their vaccinations. I’ll post their photos tomorrow. They will be up for adoption soon, too.

The baby rabbit is also a male, and ridiculously adorable. He’s doing fine, and I’ll tell his story later this week.

  • BUNNY UPDATE

      15 December 2025
    Main image

All 6 rabbits now have individual indoor spaces, where they’re being closely watched while under urgent care. It's temporary, not permanent housing. (And before you complain about lack of bedding, it was added right after the photos were taken, I promise!) All 6 bunnies are now eating on their own, and all 6 are now poohing regularly. You have no idea how important this is, as rabbits are prone to stasis: a potentially fatal condition where the digestive system slows down or stops. We’re very relieved. Ruby is doing an AMAZING job of caring for them. She’s a hero. All are being treated with panacure and baycox, and also flea treatment.

Your donations have been used for meds, vet bills, food, litter, outdoor houses to move to, etc etc: And we're saving up to have all 6 rabbits vaccinated against the deadly RHDV (virus), so they can eventually have outdoor time.
