Amitabha Hospice Service offers free compassionate companionship for the elderly and the incurably ill of any age and their families with specially trained and supervised Caregivers throughout the greater Auckland area. Amitabha Hospice also offers weekly day stay progammes to enhance the quality of life of our patients and their families by offering activities like art and music, meditation and conversation. A truly warm, joyful and meaningful experience!

Some of our patients have physically debilitating illnesses requiring them to use wheel chairs. We also have disabled volunteers who assist these people. In order to provide equal opportunity for visitors and helpers, we have put considerable effort into creating an environment that can be used by all people, including those who have disabilities. For this reason there is a crucial need for a disabled toilet near the rooms that we use for these programs.

A disabled toilet will make a real difference to many people. Our programs give the family carers time-out to allow them to do other things away from their ill loved ones. A disabled toilet will mean that our patients and volunteers can enjoy easy access to our weekly in-house Day-Stay Programs, counselling, complementary therapies and other regular events, much more comfortably, without any worries about personal hygiene. You can join us. We need to raise $10,000 to renovate our bathroom with a standard disabled toilet and vanity.
