Nic, Head Coach at Dunedin RDA, is off to Blenheim as part of her requisite professional development training. Help us to get her there.

Dunedin, Otago

Our goal is to raise the $2,000 we need to support Nicola Hayes' attendance at an RDA-specific Programmes Workshop in Marlborough.

Riding for the Disabled relies on trained coaches to deliver individually structured programmes for our riders.

Nic is our NZQA qualified Head Coach at Dunedin RDA. She is travelling to Blenheim for training, and professional development. We really need your help to fund her fees, transport, and accommodation.

RDA coaches who hold a recognised NZQA qualification, have the skills and confidence to develop high quality, individualised programmes for our riders. The qualifications are structured to provide specific on the job learning, incorporating coaching skills, understanding, and assessing our riders' needs, horse care and training, and underpin professionalism in the coaching role.

As the qualifications are RDA specific, the training is easily translated to the coach's work on the ground with riders and volunteers. All coaches must regularly upskill by attending focussed training workshops.

Her certification enables Nic to create diverse learning opportunities for our riders. The workshop will give her new tools that will refine and progress her skills in coaching, recognising the needs of our riders and horse welfare.

Nic's role at DRDA is pivotal. We absolutely support her professional development.

Dunedin RDA doesn't receive government funding. We rely on grants, sponsorship, and donations from the community to keep us running.
