  • Pixie Rose leg Amputation

      8 June 2023

Good Morning All, Been a while since our last update due to being so hectic with sick kitties.

Firstly we want to thank everyone for their support, the donations, the ph calls , the words of encouragement the love. We simply cannot do this without your support. To date since the very start of PussN Boots we have taken over 600 cats and kittens, We are busier than ever and funds are always extremely low.

We have enough work for 5 people full time without the wages. It's a huge job and our volunteers are amazing.

Today we are asking people to consider donating towards care of Pixie Rose a beautiful kittens who came in a few weeks back with burns to her head face nose, ears legs and feet from calk milk powder. She also had part of her foot cut off and broken paws. Pixie has made an amazing recovery but today sees her in the vets for a full front leg amputation due to the pain of knocking the stump. This girl was dumped kn a farm, injured and left to get further traumatized fending for herself. This is the last step to showing her love and getting her into a furever home. Please help us fund this very expensive surgery that will give Pixie Rose quality of life. #Thisisher2ndchance#3legsarebeautiful#PixieRosehelpustohelpPixie

  • Cattery build

      6 May 2023

PUSSNBOOTS has been so lucky to have some wonderful donations toward our cattery. We were lucky enough to be able to purchase this very swiftly through raised funds. Now we need to raise for further building materials. It is in hope we can have a 25m cattery built with indoor outdoor flow. Areas the cats cat feel safe while in their journey with us without feeling captive. PUSSNBOOTS truelt believes in what we are doing and within 3 years we have successfully spayed and castrated over 600 kittens. I have recent lost my income and can no longer add my own money in like I used to. We currently have around 80 cats and kittens in care and are desperate to replenish stocks and square up extremely large vet accounts and work on this massive enclosure . Having the enclosure and building in the cattery that we purchased means we can safely and securely take on more abandoned kittens. I (Salena) am so greatful to ever single donor who can see our vision. We appreciate you helping us to help the animals.

  • Urgent spay and neuter in the community and installation of Cattery

      4 April 2023
    Main image

Good morning all. As the days go by and there are more and more kittens coming in, we have to wonder at what point does it stop. We are going to fundraise to spay and neuter as many community cats and kittens as possible . Thos way the Influx should eventually reduce. We live in an area where education is much needed and so I am asking for as much assistance as possible. We still need so much funds to go toward installation of our own cattery and with over 70 kittens right now and a wait list of up to 20 , We need as much help as we can. I wish to hear from anyone who would like to help me and if you donate I think your amazing, our rescue does so much in the community but we need so much more $$ to keep helping. Can you be our superstar this week?

    Good Morning,

Just a quick update to say thank you so much for your donations of recent. We are making amazing progress within the Canterbury regions. At total this season we have had 98 kittens and 6 Mums.. We had a baby born last week with cleft palate who passed within 12 hours. She was born with numerous defects that simply wasnt survivable. All which could of been prevented had mum been fixed ( Mum was Dumped pregnant). These things all preventable yet it keeps happening. We will continue to help people who simply do not have the funds to get their animals fixed.

Currently we have the opportunity to purchase an amazing cattery setup which we are fundraising for .a very low price of $2000 down from $5000.We will also be raising for transport and a handyman to help install in 2 separate locations.

This cattery will ensure good quality living space for new cats and kittens being cared for at Hq.

Please help us reach our goal which we have just stated fundraising for on the 14 / 3

Your all amazing for wanting to help. #HELPUSTOHELPTHEMPUSSNBOOTSKITTYRESCUE

  • Please help PUSSNBOOTS Kitty Rescue

Let me introduce myself, Hi I am Salena, I'm on the left and on the right is Dannielle. I am.45 years old with 5 Children and have moved from Temuka to Methven in a rented farm cottage with my Partner Dannielle who works alongside me to keep PUSSNBOOTS Running. We are always having raffles and competitions and fundraisers where ever we can but it's simply not enough. We are registered non profit charity and We need your help. With prices of everything going up and high rent prices I find myself asking for help. We have a waih list which is actually pretty urgent. We would love a sponsor to come on board and help us as we simply don't have the funds to buy the food we need

We also need to build a portable hospital wing before I seperated with my husband we had the lovely big Indoor outdoor catio where they were safe and secure unfortunately with the move and separation we simply don't have that anymore. This kitten season is shaping up to be busier than the last 2 years and we simply cant carry on without assistance from the public . With outstanding veterinary debt of about 10 k that we simply dont get back from adoption fees .We are feeling very stuck. With over 400 cats and kittens fixed and rehomed in 3 seasons at huge cost to us, not only that we have shared supplies with those who needed them more than us at the time.We just want to.continue to so all the things we do without bankruptcy. Please if you have ever considered donating and your not sure give us a bell even commiting to donating $1 a week would help. I am.very greatfull for all.tnoae who.have given so far. You ere awesome. We cannot do it alone. I'll sign off for now but know I am so very greatful for the help so far . Many thanks Salena

  • Billy Bob

Today sees Billy bob heading to his furever home. We lost his mum 2 weeks ago to severe breathing difficulties and so now her babies are ready . This will cause tears of sadness but joy at the same time. Billy bob will be going to a wonderful loving home and that makes this whole process worth it. Saved from a life of disease and fighting for food and shelter. We may be extremely poor but we are winning slowly. Good luck little Billy bob

Well we are here in the new year and so far we have turned away 17 kittens and 3 mums . PussNboots have had to close doors to intakes as we have 57 kittens and 3 mums. Many need a special diet as had a viral infection so extra vet visits and medications and specific dietary foods has wiped our funds out we still owe lots of money due to not being able pay on the spot. We have fundraiser planned and we have sausage sizzle this weekend and next weekend ' We are running raffle numbers and who ever has the bonus ball wins. We are trying all we can and we are still running short. All we want to do is give a second chance to these fur babies. If you have donated to us' please know we are extremely greatful ❤🐈❤

  • Christmas

Well here we are at the eve of Christmas eve, with well over 50 kittens and some mums with their babies or yet to birth . We now have closed to any further intakes except in emergency cases. PussNboots is community funded and we rely on the generosity of the wider public. PUSSNBOOTS are in need of a sponsor / or need to raise enough funds to spey/neuter all the intakes between $7- 10 K and purchase a pallet of dry food around 3K. We are in iur 3rd season and totally believe that we are helping decrease the over population of unwanted cats and kittens, and yes we are cat lovers however we see the other side and it's not nice. So we will soldier on, please think about donating to us this Christmas we are so grateful for every dollar and please share our pages. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MAY YOUR TIME BE SPENT IN GREAT COMPANY MUCH LOVE AND THANKS TO YOU ALL. XOXOX SALENA ❤🌲🙏

  • Full swing kitty sickness

      30 November 2022
    Main image

This week has seen an influx of illness with new kittens and cats entering PussNBoots and also our team. As volunteers we have taken a major hit with sickness and had to work through it as we have no relief, so what we have had this week is ,We have had family if 7 in with ringworm and very young pregnant kittens wuth cat flu We have had kittens with bulging infected eyeballs needing immediate treatment and a muma cat that has had explosive diarrhea ( the poor vet wore that,)🤢 apparently thos had been happening for over 2 weeks. A vet account to get 3 kittens and the sick muma $400 plus special dietary needs and cleaning products exceed another hundred dollars. We are constantly running at a huge loss but the needs of the animals must be met, this is where we beg and plead for people to help us. We could not leave animals in that state, the pain must of been horrendous PUSSNBOOTS is thankful for support and donations, we want to keep helping the most vulnerable in our communities but we cannot so this alone, communities all around Nz need to band together to help rescues do what they do. The hard work and perseverance is down to us all wanting less suffering. PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING A RESCUE

Well Yesterday seen the release of an article in 3 of the local papers where PussN boots are located, Messages have flooded our page, people wanting g kittens for xmas. We do not hurry kittens out the door just because its xmas, in fact I dont believe in animals for xmas presents, as they are a life commitment and responsibility is needed to ensure your pet lives a healthy happy life and not discarded like a chip packet. We are committed to having our animals go to good homes Currently I'm searching for $$ making ideas, We need a major influx of cashflow, to support our close to 50 babies to order food by the pallet and pallets of fire pellets for litter, flea treatment etc. Its so hard to sleep not knowing how we can survive .Every cent goes into food, bedding milk, and equipment and vet care. This is a community issue and we need help. We are trying our very best.

A massive thanks to those who have donated, we couldn't survive without you xox

  • Mind your step theres some fur babies around 😻

      22 November 2022
    Main image

This week our total of fur babies is over 40, With another to be mum coming to stay. The numbers are astounding considering we are so early into kitten season .

Puss N boots have been run of our feet and left trying to remember what sleep is like, Just like that, we are into round the clock care, with hand raising 5 + another 3.❤ Unfortunately last week suddenly we lost prem baby no 3 so this was devastating after trying so hard it simply was not enough his little body was not strong enough for this world. 😥

It's so hard not to get caught in the negative when these fur babies have been let down , however what what we need to remember is we give them love, warmth a full belly and snuggles 24/7. We Spend every waking moment trying our best to give these babies a fresh start. We thank everyone who has donated as this is a big job and a complete financial burden to myself and Dani and the crew at PNB. Please help us raise more funds so we can better equip our volunteer families with the kits and food they need, also the thousands of dollars req for food and medical costs. Please remember we are registered now as well. Please remember to share our page, many thanks

  • HELP, help ,help PLEASE Kitten season in full swing

      16 November 2022

Well kitten season has arrived with a hiss and a meow, we went from zero to 30 in the space of a short few days. With emergency trips collecting queens that are prematurely labouring on route, to mamas birthing simultaneously Abandoned kittens in the middle of nowhere, We have been thrown into chaos right of the back. Puss N boots appreciate all the support but we simply need more as the need is so high, we have been doing 2 hourly feeds for sick kittens with around the clock care, Medical costs and food/ nutritional costs, are not maintainable for a small rescue like ours, This is a huge problem and I am begging for support to save these fur babies and give them a better life, as always I am forever greatful for any love / support / donations of all kinds
