We want to help Edgardo recover as comfortably as possible without having to worry about supporting his Family back home!
Auckland
Edgardo is a Filipino national that has come to New Zealand in February to work and live, all the while supporting his family back in the Philippines. He is an outstanding person and in the short time he has been here, has been an upstanding member of society.
On Saturday May 18th, he complained that he was feeling unwell and started to vomit when his housemates called an ambulance and he was subsequently brought to Auckland Hospital in Grafton, almost straight away, he was brought into surgery and was being operated on. At present, I am unsure as to whether the issue was a Blood clot in his brain or whether it was a brain Hemorrhage, because, as his employer, the doctors will only tell us so much. His young family in the Philippines have been alerted and are obviously waiting anxiously to hear whether he has made a recovery or not.
As it stands, doctors have told us his surgery has been successful, but he is still in a critical condition. This morning(May 20th), we were told he is moving his hands and fingers, but it is still too early to tell whether he will make a full recovery or not and if he does, how long the recovery will take.
Anything that anyone can give during this time will help with Edgardo's Medical bills, bringing his family here(if possible)/sending him back home to recover, supporting his family whilst he isn't working, honestly, that list can go on and on as to what little anyone can give, but it will all help.
I'm certain that if anyone out there reading this was in the same position, they would want people to help, so please, help Edgardo with whatever you can.
I'm Edgardo's employer, we employed him from the Philippines to come to New Zealand to work.
Medical Bills
Pay for his time off work
Helping his family out while he isn't working
Maybe sending him home to recover
Bringing his family here to help him recover

So,
We have been to the hospital to visit Edgardo today and it seems whilst he is still not conscious, his body is however responding to different things. The doctors and nurses tell us that whilst this isn't necessarily a positive sign, it is at least a sign.
We will continue to visit Edgardo at the hospital and update you all at every step of the way.
Thank you all for your generous donations, as before, if everyone can share the link to their friends, families and colleagues etc, it would be appreciated, I know every little will go a long way in helping Edgardo!
Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers,
Paddy
