Help Zana achieve her dancing dreams!

Zana is a 15 year old dancer from Hawke’s Bay who auditioned for a specialised ballet academy in Lower Hutt last year and got in! This was very unexpected, so we were not prepared for the costs.

Over the past year it has been a continuous struggle to afford this, as Zana is living away from home in a home stay arrangement, and the academy is a part of a private girls high school. Previously Zana was just attending a small afterschool ballet studio and a public high school in Hawkes Bay, so this drastic change in costs has been difficult to navigate and is becoming more tolling as it keeps adding up. Travelling for competitions and extra lessons in preparation for these is not cheap, and pointe shoe costs are ongoing, especially since one pair only lasts Zana 2-4 weeks.

Zana’s goal for ballet is to take it overseas and develop a career. Excitingly, Zana now has 2 opportunities to train for a few weeks overseas which would be utterly life changing for her. Unfortunately, the cost of this is tremendously expensive, and out of reach. Any help or support is appreciated, every little bit counts!
