Any little bit helps - Funds towards spending first Christmas together as a Family

Don't know where else to turn!

Have tried my best to be organised as we have a baby due in Dec. Have been slowly paying things off and had a $900 Pumpkin Patch gift card left, to get the last of our baby's needs. Now due to them going into receivership, gift cards now only work on a dollar to dollar basis (ie. for a $40 item I can now only use $20 off the gift card & will have to pay remainder of that in cash) I contacted Pumpkin Patch to plea my case but no good, I even rang the recievership company in Auckland to see if they could possibly put the amount on to multiple cards so then we could share with others to use but still no! Not only do I not have hundreds spare to match the dollar for dollar criteria but my partner & I are now down a paycheck due to me badly spraining my ankle & not being able to walk - My job requires me to be on my feet as I am a Teacher Aide at a PreSchool, because of being under casual contract I don't qualify for sick leave & ACC won't cover my 1st week and possibly any weeks as doctor said I would be okay by now but I'm not. I am trying my best to get back on my feet but at almost 36 weeks pregnant (being heavier than my legs are used to doesn't help) it's all getting very stressful. My partner is a hard working Labourer but due to him being self employed he can't take time off unless we save (which is why my last few pay cheques were going to be saved for this) as we have rent, power bills etc that his wages usually cover. Now with this injury and possibly having to dish out hundreds more than expected to cover the loss on the gift card AND my pay cheque I don't know how I'm going to manage. As our first born all I want is for my partner to at least have a week at home for Christmas with us. Tried selling card on Trade Me but no luck thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. With dontations going towards baby clothing as gift card with full balance is just sitting there now & a weeks rent to make up for my pay loss, so my partner can be home with us for Christmas.
