Hi there kind-hearted souls! I hope you are enjoying the first week of summer in New Zealand.

Mum's mitral valve replacement surgery has been successful. Her Christmas wish to have a brand new heart and a whole new life is made possible through your generosity and endless support. Your good deeds have been engraved into the HEART of our family and we can hardly express how thankful we are to you all. Your generosity has become so viral that our family is urged to pay it forward too to those in need.

Mum is still on her road to full recovery and will be discharged from the hospital soon. Again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU from the BOTTOM of our HEARTS!

Much love from our family to yours!

  • Tests performed before surgery on Dec.3

    Dear generous souls

Yesterday, Dec.1, mum had gone through the following tests

    Urine test

    Blood test

    Chest Xray

    Echocardiography

    Color Flow Doppler

Mum's surgery will be tomorrow Dec.3 at 8am. Her heart surgeon advised to replace her valve with mechanical/metal valve as it functions for a lifetime. Also she is required to be under Warfarin medication for the rest of her life.

Today, her attending physician will explain to her the whole surgery procedure and its risks.

Thank you for your continuous support. We are hopeful until now to raise more funds for mum and reach our goal of $20,000 before December 15.

Till next time. With much love.

Mum is now admitted at the Philippine Heart Center in Manila, Philippines today for her Mitral Valve Replacement Surgery on either December 1 or 2. We have initially deposited 330,000 Philippine Peso or $9,970. As mentioned before, our family will be requesting for an IMA (Individual Medical Assistance) from PCSO (Philippine Charity Sweepstakes) for the remaining 350,000 PHP. Again, this is a make or break chance as they will decide how much they can fund because they deal with thousands of requests everyday from all over the country. We will continue to keep you up to date during this time. For the meantime please be with us in prayer for the successful operation of mum.

We are still hoping that before our Givealittle page closes on December 15, 2016 we will reach our $20,000 goal.

Much love from all of us and thank you for your continuing support.

  • Final Schedule for Surgery

      15 November 2016

Our family has been blessed to have you all embarked with us in this ship we are sailing for mum's treatment and journey to full recovery.

Mum has been looking forward to the day of her MVRS (Mitral Valve Replacement Surgery) scheduled either on December 1 or 2. She will be admitted at the Philippine Heart Center in Manila on November 30, 2016. She will be confined in approximately 8 days.

Our family is very positive that we will reach our $20,000 goal before the page closes on December 15, 2016 enough to cover the total cost of mum's surgery.

Again, our hearts filled with thankfulness go out to you all who journey with us for mum. We look forward to the day when mum's heart is fully restored and returns back here in New Zealand to be reunited with my father in the Dairy Farm in the South Island. We will keep you posted with what's going on.

THANK YOU and MUCH LOVE FROM US.

With much love from all of us.

  • Mum's Diagnostic Coronary Angiogram

      19 October 2016

Mum had her diagnostic coronary angiogram yesterday October 18, 2016 at Philippine Heart Center in Manila, Philippines. The X-ray showed no blood clots in her heart vessels. She will be discharged today.

The mitral valve replacement surgery is scheduled on November 30, 2016. PHC has advised that we need to deposit at least half of the total cost of surgery, that's 325,000 Philippine Peso equivalent to around $9,500 to $10,000 with room rates and attending physicians. Good thing that a friend of ours happened to recommend a Heart Surgeon and Cardiologist who are willing to give a discount on professional fees.

The surgery is not currently funded by the Philippine government so we will try to negotiate with the Hospital on how to settle the remaining balance once the surgery is done. One of the options is to request a medical financial assistance from Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. But this is a make or break move.

Again, this would not be possible without your generous support. Thank you for you are there our angels in times of need.

Mum left New Zealand on September 27, 2016. Arrived safely at NAIA international airport in Manila, Philippines from a long haul trip.

On September 29 she had her 1st bloodtest in the Philippines as a continuation of her once weekly bloodtests which started in NZ. The GP also requested for another ECG that same day with a confirmed result of Left Atrium Enlargement same as the previous specialist report on her Echocardiogram in NZ.

Yesterday, he had her 2nd bloodtest done in MMSU Batac as well as another chest X-ray was performed.

Today, October 8, 2016, she is traveling to Manila (10 hours land travel) for her 1st appointment with an Interventional Cardiologist and Heart Surgeon at the Philippine Heart Center (one of the prestigious institutions in the country that specializes on heart diseases and surgeries) on October 10.

Mum is experiencing a lot of symptoms including fatigue, chest pain, dizziness, and lack of breath related to her heart condition. She is able to fight against the disease and remain strong because of you who are helping out to save our mum's heart.

Thank you for your full support.

Whakawhetai koe i to tatou utuafare!
