Solly is still having up days and down days, but wants to thank everyone for their help and kind thoughts.

Its great to see his cheeky grin back again sometimes

  • A roller coaster update...

      29 August 2015

In the last few days there have been a few developments in Sollys health, first the slightly bad, an infection has developed in his hickmans line (which is where they put medicine in, draw blood out etc and is surgically inserted into his chest to avoid a constant barrage of needles) which meant that yesterday he had to be popped back into theatre and now has another line in his neck while the infection is sorted in the chest line.

He's come out of that surgery well and is in a bit of pain so being kept on strong drugs.

On the flip side Solomon is so proud to tell you all that yesterday he managed to stand for the first time in MONTHS. With a bit of support from the Physio and nurses he largely did this on his own. For his heart rate to hold out nice and steady and his legs to be strong enough this is huge!!

Solly is super proud of himself and wanted me to share these photos with you guys, it's nice to be able to give you all some happy news! A lot of these nurses and the physio team have been there for the majority of this journey (in the ward) so it's nice for them to see him improving in some way.

  • Solly Still Very Ill

      19 August 2015

Solly took very ill late yesterday but Drs though it was just his body adjusting to higher volume of feed into his stomach.

Turns out his stomach is not coping at all and overnight he developed a very high temp, which has been up and down today. ICU are back on the scene keeping a close eye on him.

He continued into this morning with serious vomiting.

Feed has been stopped and Drs discussing other options

He's also back on fluids and antibiotics.

All within a 7hr gap - it can change so quickly

Solly's back on the ward, surgery seems successful. Time will tell whether this is the start of the long road to recovery.

  • Back in surgery

      14 August 2015

Sollys gone down hill is going back for surgery now. A drain was pulled out by accident and another pool of poison has built up in his abdomen again.

  • Solly's Next Surgery

      10 August 2015

    Hi Everyone

Solly's next surgery should be Wednesday afternoon. If successful this should enable Solly to be 'feed' via a tube directly into his stomach.

This is a dangerous procedure, so we're asking for prayer and positive thinking for Solly on Wednesday.

    Sherry

Today I visited Solly and Carol in the hospital, and printed out and read everyones wonderful wishes and kind words to him, and will add them to his wall in the hospital room. This was a god send, and really raised Solly's spirits.

Solly asked me to pass on thanks to everyone who is helping him and his family right now.

I've taken a photo of his room in the hospital, and if anyone wants to visit him, please contact his mum Carol to arrange a time.
