Hi everyone, sorry it's been a bit quiet for a few days, not a lot has been happening. Michelle, the vet from Esther Honey is collecting the travel crate for Gunner this sunday and returning to Rarotonga with it.

Here's a recent photo of Gunner from the local paper. It was for an article about the lovely dogs the SPCA have up for adoption. Isn't his friend a super cutie?!

The ad looking for any 'owner' has brought no responses, which is what we were expecting, but good to make double sure.

  • It's all in the details

      23 October 2015

    Hi everyone,

Please be patient as we are trying to thank everyone personally but there are so many of you amazing people it's taking time.

It would appear we have had a miscommunication, and given the nature of our endeavour we think there may be more as we go along but we are commited to being transparent and keeping everyone updated so want to share as we go.

We thought the newspaper had run the ad looking for any possible owner for Gunner already but today we heard they were waiting to hear for a date to run it and credit card details for payment. We had given these already so thought it had gone ahead, which was a misunderstanding on our part. We are now in the process of sorting this out. The cost of the ad is $25.10. Apologies for that.

We have been getting quotes in for the numerous elements involved in bring Gunner over and will post those up FYI so you know where your money will be spent.

Great news is that the SPCA have confirmed for us today that they will keep Gunner as long as necessary. From an email - "we do have Gunner and are waiting for him to be advertised in case his owners come forward and we have agreed to keep him until that either happens or he is moved to Easter Honey in preparation for transportation. "

    Huge thanks to the SPCA!!

This morning there were tears in my eyes as I received the news that so many people had opened their hearts to Gunner and donated to securing him a LIFE. I know THANK YOU is not enough, thank you! Please know you have saved a life and you should feel amazing for that!

As advised by the local SPCA we had advertised in the local paper in Rarotonga seeking any possible owner of Gunner and because no one came forward and because of YOUR kindness, we have given the foundation the all go to get started with the medical stuff required.

Gunner's travel crate is ready to be collected by a visiting vet from Esther Honey who will return to Rarotonga with it.

The process will possibly take a few months so bare with us as update may be slow but we have also created a facebook page for you to keep up to date with where your money has been spent and how close we are to getting this very sweet soul home.
