Help Acima get to Junior World Champs in Costa Rica 🇨🇷🏋🏾♀️
Auckland
Kia ora!
I'm a 22 year old Masters Student, and I have been given the incredible opportunity to represent New Zealand at the IPF Junior World Championships in Costa Rica later this year. I started powerlifting in 2023 after a powerlifting legend from my home town in Kerikeri came up to me in the gym and explained to me how it worked - after my first comp I was completely hooked! Since then I've competed at 2 National Championships, won both of them, broke all of the national records and will be going into Worlds nominated in the Top 10 🥺
I am so grateful for this opportunity, and would not have believed you 2 years ago if you told me I was going to travel to represent my country.
However, international competition comes at a high cost. Powerlifting is still a relatively small sport and so it entirely self funded, which means all athletes must cover travel costs, accomodation, team tracksuits and additional competition fees themselves. I am saving every dollar I can between working as a coach, studying my Masters of Sport, and picking up extra fitness instructor shifts, but any support means the absolute world to me.
If you can support me in any way, that means so much!
Every dollar donated gets me one step closer to Costa Rica, and I absolutely would not be able to do it without you guys 💓
Sincerely,
Acima
