Help Anne win her battle with cancer

  • It's been a year!

      13 March 2017

One year ago today Anne found out that she had breast cancer. This page will be closing soon and I would like to thank you all once again for your incredible generosity. Your financial help has given Anne choices. It enabled her to go overseas for treatment, to get supplements, to eat organically and to have treatments here in NZ.

Last week Anne had a scan which showed that there are no tumours at present. This is wonderful news and so exciting (and relieving) to hear! We know that the fight isn’t over yet but we go into this next stage feeling hopeful.

Anne needs to continue with her treatment and that includes going to Mexico every six months for a checkup and more of their supplements. She will also continue with her present regime of other supplements, treatments and organic food.

I will be starting another Givealittle page for those who would like to support Anne financially so she can keep doing what she is doing.

Once again, thank you SO much for your help.

As I was thinking about all that I am thankful for this year, I thought of you. Your kindness and generosity in giving to Anne has made a difficult time a little easier. You have been a blessing. Thank you so much.

May 2017 be a year of blessing, prosperity and good health for you and your family.

  • Decision Made

      2 June 2016

The last couple of weeks have been traumatic. Anne was referred to the Oncologist as they want her to have chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Anne agonised over whether to go with the chemo or try alternative, less toxic treatments.

The statistics of survival for people with Anne’s type of cancer are not favourable. But we know that those are just numbers and Anne is going to be one of the statistics of the people surviving for many years!

Anne has decided to go to Bio-Medical Centre in Mexico. She and Ben leave on Friday 10th June and Anne will be seen at the clinic on the Monday. They will be away for three weeks.

We so appreciate your kindness in helping Anne financially. I have seen how much it has meant to her; how it has helped her and how it has made this difficult time a bit easier.

    Thank you so much.

  • Recovering from Surgery

      17 May 2016

Anne had the mastectomy on the 6th May. She had some lymph nodes removed as there was some spread.

Anne is recovering well from surgery. It has been a bit of a journey with lots of pain but plenty of analgesia. Today she has decided to try to cut down on the pain meds. She is doing a little bit more each day - hard to keep her down :-)

Anne has not yet had the pathology results. We are hoping that there has been no further spread.

Thank you so much for what you have done to help Anne on this journey.

  • Surgery

      4 May 2016

Anne is scheduled for surgery (mastectomy) on Friday 6th May at 8am. We are hoping the cancer has been contained and that no further treatment will be needed. She will continue with the things that she has been doing to raise her immunity and fight the cancer. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Anne has an appointment with the plastics surgeon on April 22nd.

While we wait she is continuing with treatments, diet and supplements in an endeavour to contain / reduce the tumour.

Thank you so much for your support and generosity.

  • Some good news

      1 April 2016

    Anne saw the specialist yesterday.

The GOOD news is that the MRI showed no spread of the cancer and the lymph nodes look alright.

The not-so-happy news is that surgery IS necessary because of the size of the cancer and sooner rather than later. A referral has been put through to the plastics surgeon since Anne will have the reconstruction surgery at the same time as the mastectomy. We would expect surgery to be within the next two to three weeks.

Thank you, again, for your amazing generosity. We have been feeling overwhelmed with the love and generosity shown to Anne and Ben.

      25 March 2016

Anne saw the Dr again this week. The result of that is:

    1. With correct treatment, the cancer is not life-threatening.

    2. They will defer surgery for a month – that will give time to try and shrink the growth with diet, treatments, herbs, supplements. It is only because of the generosity of so many people that Anne has this option.

    3. She had an MRI scan on Tuesday. We won’t have the results of that until next week. If the cancer has spread she may not have that extra month before surgery, so here’s hoping, (And praying!)

    4. Anne will see the Specialist next Thursday for a second opinion.

    5. We are SO thankful for so many friends and family who have been so incredibly generous.
