Briana foot's familiy is trying to build her a purpose built home to help her quality of life and to cater to her many disabilities.

4 year old Briana (Bree) Foot’s family wants to provide her with a purpose-built home that will enhance her quality of life and cater to her many disabilities.
Bree has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called ‘Peroxisomal Biogenesis Disorder Zellweger Spectrum’. There is no treatment or cure for this rare condition and it generally comes with a short life expectancy.
The disorder has robbed Bree of basic faculties such as vision, hearing and general motor skills. Seizures, breathing difficulties and feeding problems are just a few of the many complications that her family has to deal with on a day-to-day basis.
Bree’s complex needs mean that she is 100% dependent on her parents. She is constantly sick, due to her disorder, and an associated inadequate immune system means that she suffers regular respiratory and chest infections and is constantly in and out of Waikato and Starship hospitals.
Bree’s family dreams of finding a place where she and her parents can enjoy a sense of independence, helping her achieve the quality of life she deserves, as their much-loved only child.
This house would provide accessibility for her wheelchair and lifting hoist so that she can be comfortably moved from room to room in the home.
It would have a dedicated, easy-access wet area so that she can enjoy one of her very favourite things – bath time – and provide room for all her rehabilitation equipment to be used properly - for her benefit.
Bree’s current home is a small, damp rental and it is very difficult for her parents to move her around the house. It really isn’t a suitable property for her to be living in and her parents have tried for the last year and a half to find a better house to suit her needs but, so far, have been unsuccessful.
Her parents, Michael and Priscilla say: “Our only hope is to build a ‘forever home’ for our precious daughter, but although we’d love to, we can’t do it by ourselves and we need help from the community.”
All funds raised through Give-a-Little will go towards the deposit to get ‘Bree’s Home’ underway.
Anyone who can find it in their hearts to help will be assured of the family’s deepest gratitude.
Thank you so much for your help towards our cause. We will endevour to keep everyone updated with progress in the future
