Romanes Park vert ramp Havelock North
need funding to build a world class vert skate ramp at Romanes Park, Havelock North.
Hawke's Bay
The Napier City Sk8 zone facility catered to the vert ramp needs of the skating community, however with the redevelopments on the Marine Parade not allowing for this in their planning, this has now created an opportunity to a build a world class vert ramp at Romanes Park Havelock North.
There is only a few vert ramps in New Zealand and Vert skaters in Hawkes Bay are having to drive to Gisborne to continue progressing in there skating.
With the 2020 Japan Olympics featuring vert skateboarding this is a perfect opportunity to bring vert skating back to Hawkes Bay.
Hastings council have been supportive and kindly agreed to fund 50% of the cost to build the ramp at either romanes park or hastings sports park.

I am involved because i am a vert skateboarder and i am passionate and dedicated to the sport. Due to the closure of the marine parade vert ramp i regularly drive 3 hours to gisborne to continue with my progression and learn new tricks. I refuse to give up and have found the perfect spot to build a bigger and better vert ramp at Romanes Park. The vert ramp will be world class competition size ramp.
Use of funds
Funds raised will go directly into building a world class vert ramp at Romanes Park Havelock North.
