  • Today Epi held his little girl

      25 July 2016

Today this guy got to hold his little girl. Epi Ronaki you are a legend and have no idea how happy your recovery has made us all.

At school today - the first day of term.. our Room 14 boys didn't hold back on their questions about you(only you can imagine) after an hour of solid discussion, some clarity, the odd crazy question, and some laughter with J dog we all agreed you are the toughest by far!

As you continue on this journey and show the doctors that you can do anything you set your mind to, please know we are all backing you 100%.

Up walking, in a ward and moving in to the transplant house shortly. You and your recovery amazes us all.

Thank you to everyone for their prayers, support and messages. Please continue.

    Day 13 Update www.givealittle.co.nz

And Epi Ronaki "The Beast" continues to improve!

Epi is now in a ward at Auckland hospital and continuing to make steady progress. Things are much busier in a ward and he is learning about the meds that he will be on for the rest of his life. Each day must be a huge learning curve for Epi, and his determination to get well is forever present. He is having better days, and continuing to take this all in his stride with Alesha at his side.

Please continue to support and pray for Matau and his family.

As we know Epi is such a quiet and humble guy who avoids the limelight. He would not ask for help, but I know he would be the first to give it.

Thank you to all of you who has, and continues to support www.givealittle.co.nz

Do it for our mate! Cheers Reubs

  • Day 10 Epi continues to fight

      19 July 2016

Day 10 Update with Epi Ronaki and Alesha Williamson

Epi continues his battle facing each day with determination and strength. This guy definatly fights hard and it is against all odds that he continues to improve. Epi has the tube out and is doing a small amount of talking, he is still obviously exhausted, so please be mindful of this and any visitors please check with Alesha Williamson to ensure Epi is up to it. Epi currently has a chest infection which the doctors hope will clear soon as he is on antibiotcs. He has been up standing and transferring, and all his blood levels are trending in the right direction. Doctors are hoping Epi will be transferred into a ward in the next day or two, all going good. He is a machine!

Thank you to everyone who has supported and continue to support the Give A Little page. www.givealittle.co.nz These funds will help take care of any extra financial pressures for Epi and his young whanau. This journey for them continues, and I know they are extremley grateful for you help, and love.

Please keep up the prayers, support and sharing.

  • Day 8 on Epis Road to recovery

      17 July 2016

Day 8 on Epi's Road to Recovery.

Epi is slowly getting use to the situation at the moment with a tube in place, so not yet able to talk. He is however doing some signing and he used a letter board this morning. As you can imagine this must be exhausting for Epi, and he is not up to visitors at the moment. He continues to soldier on with a CT scan tomorrow, to have a look at his pancreas.

It looks like Epi and Alesha will be up in Auckland for at least the next 10 or so weeks, as he continues this daily battle.

Thank you to everyone who has shared and donated to https://www.givealittle.co.nz/ These funds will allow Epi and his young whanau to focus on healing and getting well without any extra financial pressure or worry. Thank you and keep up the prayers, they are working!

  • Epi continues his battle...

      14 July 2016

Epi has been blessed with the gift of a new liver... and thankfully today things are beginning to look brighter. Epi is still in critical condition, and after some complications on the way and another surgery, his doctors and surgeons are happy with his progress. Although stable he is still very critical, but he continues to fight. Epi has everything to fight for and he is fighting hard. His little guy is 5 years old and he has an 8 week old baby girl. This young man and his little whanau continue to need any support you can give. It is going to be a long had road for them. Thank you for your support and prayers.
