Help Hunter walk without pain

I was just wondering how hunters surgery turned out? I'm a vet nurse and recently hand raised 4 little kittens, one of whom I gave to a friend and turns out that little kitty has the luxating patellas in both knees 2! My friend is Absoloutely heartbroken and trying to decide what to do, obviously $4000 is a lot of money and when I was googling and came across this she was interested to hear about it so we were just wondering how it all went and how Hunter is now?
