Empowering Aleipata, Samoa's Rural Youth | Learn by Doing | Transformation Academy

From October 14-18, our team of expert musicians, artists, and educators will embark on a life-changing journey to Aleipata, Samoa. Our mission is to empower rural youth through our innovative "Learn by Doing" pedagogy.

For too many young Samoans, education and employment is out of reach. Currently, 19.75% of youth are disengaged from education and employment, 44% struggle with basic numeracy skills, and 23.6% live below the poverty line. Mental health concerns, substance abuse, and violence are also significant .

BUT we have witnessed a different story. When youth perform at White Sunday, functions, or productions, they shine with enthusiasm, intelligence & accomplishment. "Learn by Doing" will harness this!

Our approach harnesses creativity and community engagement through singing, performing, carving, elei, design, and more. Real-time learning experiences lead to NZQA Certificates (Levels 1 & 2) and build soft skills for job and vocation pathways.

The results speak for themselves: over 60% of our youth progress to further education and work, with hundreds empowered through tailor-made, NZQA-accredited programs.
