Fundraising to help fund Andre's U19 worlds cycling race campaign.
Canterbury
My name is Andre Free, I am honoured to have been selected to represent New Zealand at the U19 Cycling World Championships, where I will compete in both the Road Race and Individual Time Trial against the world's best young cyclists.
Cycling has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and years of hard work have led to this opportunity. This season I finished 2nd in the Time Trial and 2nd in the Road Race at the New Zealand Elite National Championships, and I also achieved 2nd in the Time Trial and 5th in the Road Race at the Oceania Championships in Australia.
I am currently a Year 13 student and Monitor Leader at Christchurch Boys' High School, balancing my studies with high-performance sport. Every week I dedicate countless hours to training, with the goal of becoming the best cyclist I can be and proudly representing New Zealand on the international stage.
Competing at a World Championship is a dream come true, but it comes with significant costs, including flights, accommodation, equipment, and race expenses. I am fundraising to help make this opportunity possible.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will directly support my journey to the World Championships and help me compete against the best young riders in the world. If you're unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and belief in my journey. I am incredibly grateful for every contribution and the opportunity to represent New Zealand with pride.
Funds raised will be used for accommodation, airfares, food and insurance while I race in Canada. All funds will be used for this purpose.
Just been officially announced for worlds 29 July 2026
I’m incredibly grateful to share that I’ve officially been named for the New Zealand team to compete at the World Championships! This is a huge step towards achieving one of my biggest goals.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me so far. Your encouragement and donations are making a real difference and helping me chase this opportunity. Every bit of support means the world—thank you!

I also competed in the UCI Watersley Challenge in the Netherlands, where I finished 15th overall in the General Classification. My best result was 11th in the individual time trial. In Stage 2, I finished 29th after being taken down by another rider while I was in the lead group, which bent my derailleur and left me without all of my gears. I fought hard to get back to the front group but was eventually caught by the bunch. I finished 15th in Stage 3, which secured 15th overall in the GC. It was a challenging week of racing, but I’m proud of the experience and looking forward to what’s next!
