Hello lovely supporters! Its been a little while since I posted an update as I've been very unwell, but iI wanted you all to know that Björn has been home for about a week and he is doing well!! He came home in bandages and was most unhappy about things but was so happy to be home. He ran straight to his food bowl then tried to make a run for the outside world (he loves the back yard ). Luckily I had closed the cat door so he stood there whacking it with his little bandaged paw. He still doesn't eat a great deal but he is eating something and adjusting to his new special urinary diet. He seems to be passing urine reasonably well at the moment and now that he is allowed outside again (I kept him in for the first 4 days to monitor his litter box) he is running all over the place, playing with his BFF Elsa (dog sibling) chasing bugs and is grooming himself much better. His near death experience seems to have mellowed him out a little as he is so much more affectionate and slightly less murdery than before haha.

We are so so grateful for everyone's support during this time, your generosity was so humbling and heart warming and I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a little tear or two every time a kind soul made a donation . I literally could not have done this without you and Björn would not be here today. Also a massive shout out to the wonderful team at Vetora Hamilton for all their hard work and tolerance of my millions of phone calls.

Thanks so much to everyone ♥♥👏🐱🐾

wonderful news! Björn has had a good 24hrs. He has the catheter in (he hasn't pulled any of his lines out this time) and the vet staff tell me his chilling out in his cage and purring for pats. He still tries to escape from time to time which sounds very typical of him haha. They tell me he hasn't eaten much but that is ok. They are hoping to take the catheter out tomorrow morning and if all goes well, there is a chance he will be allowed to come home tomorrow afternoon ! I am so so happy! Obviously it depends how things go in the morning but the fact it is possible just fills me with happiness! stand by for tomorrow's update and cross all your fingers and toes and eyes and arms and legs it goes well.

Another huge thanks to all you beautiful people who have supported Bjorn's recovery xx

Hi all! I just want to start by saying a massive thanks to everyone who has donated to help my little bear Björn so far. Your kindness is so heartwarming ☺

This morning I have spoken to the vet team and they say Björn is doing well. He improved enough yesterday to have the surgery for the catheter etc and is recovering well from the anaesthetic. He is much more alert today and is purring away. They've put a cone on him and bandaged him up to stop him ripping out all his lines and catheter again! Apparently it is draining well with no blood or crystals. It is ideally going to stay in place at least until tomorrow if possible . He is not yet interested in eating anything despite multiple attempts but he is feeling strong enough to try and escape his cage at any opportunity so fingers crossed his appetite will improve over the day. They will update me again this evening.

Last night I was updated that Bjorn had been starting to try using his litter box for the first time and was managing to pass some urine, and the medications seemed to be working as it was easier to express his bladder. However, this morning the vet called and said he had deteriorated. his temperature has dropped and he does not want to eat or drink. We have restarted him on fluid therapy and they will aim to slowly warm him up.If he responds well to the fluid they will put in a new catheter and go from there. we are crossing everything that can be crossed that this will work. my dog Elsa is missing her best friend!
