Help support Maria to fund her pancreatic cancer treatment and relieve financial burden.
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
Our beautiful friend and colleague, Maria Shaw, was given devastating news recently, when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Maria has spent the last 44 years dedicating her life to serving the community as a nurse, including for the last 14 years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Orthopaedic Clinic at Palmerston North Hospital. She has changed the lives of so many for the better, supporting patients, doctors, and the Orthopaedic team. She is our rock, and it is now our turn to support her in her journey.
In typical Maria fashion she is ready to face this battle head on and do everything she can to beat this. She is not the type of person to ask for help, but the orthopaedic family have set up this page to help fund her treatment and to relieve some of the financial burden that comes with fighting cancer.
Please share this page with others who may know Maria and wish to help.
Any support big or small is so appreciated.
I am creating this page on behalf of the Orthopaedic team and have been a colleague and dear friend of Maria’s for many years ❤️
Any monies raised will go towards treatment costs (including Gemcitabine and Nab-Paclitaxel which is non-funded) and also to help support Maria and her family financially.
