Help Karen to take the financial stress off her while she fights her second battle against breast cancer in 3 years.
Bay of Plenty
Karen has just had her second recurrant diagnosis of breast cancer in 3 years.
After losing her most closest family members also to cancer and struggling with grief, Karen decided to make a new life in Aussie to honour and embrace life that her mother and sister could not sadly get to do.
Karen loves living in Aussie and started to make a new life working to help families and children in need. She is hoping to not have to return to New Zealand for treatment and that she can have it in aussie as she wants to continue working towards enjoying her new life and what her new future may bring.
Karen had hoped to save enough to have a back up if she could not work. Unfortunately being a kiwi, she is not entitled to any govt or employer assistance. She had just started her new job in Family Violence supporting women in crisis in the last 2 months. She is not entitled to any sick or annual leave to cover her for her time off which has made things very stressful.
She wants to stay in aussie and return to her job she loves helping others when she is well enough to do so, but needs some financial help while she recuperates from surgery, rehabilitation and goes thru treatment.
Karen worked 4 days a week during her first diagnosis. She would have radiation then go to work to help others as a social worker. During this time she also finished a degree. Not an easy feat but she was determined not to let cancer stand in her way.
This time around to give a little would go a long way in relieving the stress enabling her some time to actually rest and recover and fight round 2.
