Sarah & Jody are stuck in separate hospitals with extensive injuries. They will need some financial help when they get home at some point.
Marlborough
On Monday 27 Jan 2020, Sarah & Jody were hospitalised with extensive injuries from a motor vehicle accident. It will be quite some time before Sarah is home, and even longer for Jody.
Sarah is in Blenheims Wairau Hospital, has a broken ankle, two broken arms, and extensive cuts & bruising, and is facing a long hospital stay, and recovery in a wheelchair when she gets out.
Jody is in Nelson Hospital, has multiple facial fractures, a spinal injury (fractured L4), broken wrist, extensive cuts & bruising, and facing a longer hospital stay & further surgery when he is well enough to transfer to Hutt Valley Hospiital.
With their only income being ACC once sick leave and annual leave runs out, there is a shortfall between their entitlement, and living expenses, as well as incidentals to help with recovery (everything from taxi's to cattery costs for their beautiful fur-less babies).
For every few dollars given, that's another day that will be easier than it might have been otherwise.
If there is more money given than required, Sarah & Jody have been active in fundraising with their tattoo/ink community for KidsCan, and would look to make a donation there.
I am Sarahs brother, and Jodys brother in law. I live in Hawkes Bay.
Funds raised will be used for covering shortfall between ACC and living expenses, plus recovery expenses like taxis for appointments, cattery costs, increased power bill when they're stuck at home, and a ton of little things that will come up.
