This campaign is to help raise funds to get HSCT treatment in Singapore for my MS.
Wellington
I am a 31 year old currently living in Wellington. Originally from Christchurch, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I was 23, in my fourth year of study at Otago University. Over the past nine years, MS has quite swiftly taken a lot of my independence and (to a certain extent) joy from my life.
Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a chance to stop any further MS progression, and possibly regain some of the things I have lost. I have decided that now is the time to undertake this groundbreaking treatment in Singapore; I have been accepted for the treatment and will travel there in late-June 2017.
However, this remarkable procedure isn't cheap, at a cost of $120,000. Any assistance you can give to help fund this would be life-changing. Your generosity would mean so much to me and my family.
I have written a full description of MS, the HSCT treatment, and my decision to go for it here: http://msodyssey.blogspot.co.nz/2017/03/the-odyssey-begins.html
The funds raised will go exclusively to paying for the HSCT treatment in Singapore (phase 1: $60,00; phase 2: $60,000)
Thank you! 19 June 2017
Generous people,
Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for your donation to help me get this treatment. It takes a truly wonderful person to have the kindness and empathy to give to others, and you all are clearly 232 of the most wonderful!
All my love to each of you, and thank you again.
Love, Rachel xxxx
