Every week we have to administor 14 immunosupressant drugs, 7 kidney drugs, 7 gallbladder drugs, 7 liver drugs, 3.5 anti nausea pills, 7 liters of fluids (14 injections). He has to go to the vet and have full blood panel tests every week.

The side effects of this is damaging my boy. His gut is taking a bashing. Today the specialist said the side effects Jerry is having is so so so rare but Jerry seems to be writing his own story.

He is defintely perking up and is looking good in himself but he is now weighing a shocking 14.8kgs. A week before he got sick he was weighed at the vets to be 18.3kgs. He is refusing to eat kidney food so now we hoping Tuna and chicken will do the trick.

Please continue thinking and sending positive vibes for our boy. He is a fighter and he will get through this.

My Jerry is such a strong fighter. The medication is working and the Bloods show that his kidney levels are improving. However the steroids and the immunosupressant drugs have caused a tummy ulcer. We landed up at after hours after we woke to Jerry vomiting blood.

The specialist has stopped Jerry's steroids and immunosupressant until the ulcer is gone.

He goes to the toilet around 6 times a night, always runny and bloody. Today was the first day it was partly solid and no blood, so hopefully this is a sign of the ulcer recovering.

The specialist has upped his subcut fluids to a liter a day.

I love my baby so much and thank you all for sending love and kisses our way 😘

Jerry is doing better. He is coping with his subcut fluids and tomorrow we have more blood tests to see if the immunosupressant drugs and steroids are working to repair his kidneys. So please all keep fingers crossed 🤞🏻. We have had to order a different kidney meat as Jerry has decided once again he doesn't want to eat. He is losing weight and is so stubborn. He wants chicken but his kidneys can't cope with chicken, it needs the kidney diet. Will post our update once we get the blood results

Thank you everyone who has donated so far. The money is such a help towards Jerry's bills.

We got home Friday night and Jerry is enjoying being home. He sleeps a lot and has to have a fluid IV of 500ml every day. It's so hard because if I insert the needle in an incorrect way the fluid doesn't flow. Today the poor boy had to have 3 injections before I got it right. But I am definitely getting better at it.

Considering we have to do this every day for the very long foreseeable future I need to get better at it.

Thank you everyone. Jerry is one very loved and lucky dog xxx

Poor Mr Jerry had a difficult weekend. His catheter got infected and had to be removed and placed in another paw. The round the hour care he received is world class, so grateful to the staff who cared for him. We are now being transferred to the medicine team ❤❤❤

Poor Jerry isn't feeling so hot. I am having to syringe feed him food every 4 hours. 30mls. He tries to fight it but has been really good allowing me to do it. The nurses say he really does resist when they try. I also gave him his oral meds as he fights to take them. But he is so good for his mommy he let's me do it. We have to walk every 2 hours. I spent 6 hours today on the vet floor with Jerry and my boys. Please continue keeping Jerry in your thoughts ❤

  • Jerry got dehydrated

After being discharged for 2 hours last night, and despite him drinking heaps of water at the hotel with us, Jerry seemed to be extremely dehydrated. He was put back on a load of fluids and it appears that where his drip has been is infected and sore so they had to remove that one and place in another paw. He was in quite a bit of pain. So he had to have stronger pain relief last night. We are waiting for the vet to call us with another update. Please keep him in your thoughts xxx
