Jesse is a 7 year old boy from Mosgiel, Dunedin, with Tourette Syndrome. Jesse's dream, at the moment, is to go to Camp Twitch 2017.
Tourette’s causes Jesse to have uncontrollable motor tics, which can cause him physical strain and pain. Jesse also has vocal tics that cause him to make strange sounds at times.
Jesse’s tics can interfere with his school learning, but with the support of his school, and school friends, he is doing wonderfully.
Jesse has the opportunity to go to Camp Twitch 2017, which will be held in Kaipoi, Christchurch. Jesse will get to meet other youth who also have Tourette’s.
He will be able to form some amazing friendships, participate in fabulous activities, learn about Tourette’s, and most importantly….know that he is not alone.
It will also be an opportunity for his family to gain resources, and learn more about how to support Jesse in his journey with Tourettes.
I am Jesse's Mum. I have watched him change from the socially 'normal' child, to a child who struggles to keep his body under control. We want Jesse to KNOW that he is a wonderful, accepted and loved member of our society.
Funds raised will go towards camp fees, and travel costs to get Jesse and his family to Camp Twitch 2017.
Thank you for all your support,
Jesse’s Family.
