  • Another Update!

      8 March 2013

A few clarifications... ""-I am a flatmate in a rented house - not a home owner [as was misreported in the Sunday STAR-TIMES and Harbour News]. -My bedroom and many of its contents have been damaged BUT the rest of our house is OK -We became aware of the fire when my flatmate opened our front door - to a wall of flame. Thanks to her fast thinking, we moved our cars out of danger. There was little further we could do as the fire was so large and so fierce. My other comment would be: To all the firemen out there - you rock my world - the unsung heroes who fought to keep as much of our lives intact as possible. I'm both shaken & stirred to misquote James Bond, I'm sure everyone in our house would agree. There are people who say that a sense of community is dead, it takes an incident like this to show that this just isn't so. Thank you all so much!""

  • Update from Margaret :)

      7 March 2013

""I'm both shaken & stirred to misquote James Bond. Thank you all so much for your kindness - the whole givealittle thing makes me weepy :-*. My mum would spend the money wisely, and I will BUT there is always room for the frivolous as well. My room is almost cleaned out - there's some demolition to come and I know a couple of guys keen to swing a sledgehammer....""
