Ladies Lunch Fundraiser
9 May 2015"Jo you have become a very dear friend over the years and it's a friendship I cherish. I have admired the way you have handled your illness during those years, always with courage and always with dignity, and I know how dignity is so terribly important to you. When the knocks have come and there have been plenty, you have always managed to come back smiling and still counting your blessings.
That is why Jo, today is for you. A day to forget your problems, enjoy the company, let your hair down (no pun intended) and have a few laughs as well and hopefully raise some money towards the new drug.
Some of my wishes for you in the future Jo are:
To have a few bad hair days. You know, just to remember what it's like in the mornings when your hair won't sit where it should and to enjoy the greys growing through again. Another wish is that you get to enjoy becoming a nana and feeling a couple of chubby arms cradling your neck and saying they love you. Lots more wonderful years with the two lovely men in your life but most of all that the new drug works its magic.
And to all you lovely ladies whom for the most didn't even know Jo before today, a great big thank you. You have reached deep into your pockets, given up your precious time and come out to support Jo and for that both Jo and I are truly grateful. Nobody knows what lies around the corner for any of us so today let's all count our blessings, give our love and friendship to Jo, give her a lovely day to remember and enjoy a lovely lunch."
Lastly to all you lovely people out there, please help Jo reach her target to get her treatment done. Every bit counts. Your generosity would be truly appreciated.
